Residential cleaning is becoming a sought after skill and for some a profession. In todays busy world some people don’t have time to clean and end up coming home to a messy house night after night. For some of these people who make a little more, paying you $50 dollars a day to clean their house is a good deal. To clean and organize a home on a cleaning schedule can take as little as 1 to 2 hours after a routine is set up. With just two residential cleaning accounts you could be making an extra $3000 dollars a month for 2 to 4 hours a day of light cleaning and organizing while being your own boss. You can start your own cleaning business for as little as $500 in tools and supplies and permits. There are a few things you need when starting your own cleaning business but following the right steps can save you a lot of hassle latter.

When you first start up a cleaning business you need to create a registered company in your state. Taking in income without paying taxes is illegal and people do get caught every year by cheating the IRS, play by the rules and you’ll come out ahead. When you register your company make sure to list it as an LLC company to protect your current assets. By shielding yourself behind a limited liability company you are in fact protecting yourself from a lawsuit just in case something should happen at your cleaning account. Things that can happen at a cleaning account are you could be blamed if something turns up missing, a fire could start when youre their cleaning or you could just be blamed for something that is not your fault. It costs around $100 to set up an LLC company in most states and its well worth the money should something happen. The next thing you need is to be insured and bonded. You’ll probably need a vacuum cleaner, surface cleaners, cleaning towels, a mop, mop bucket, window squeegees and bathroom cleaning chemicals and utensils. Don’t buy more than you need and check your cleaning duties list to see if you really need it. When you first start out buy a run of the mill vacuum cleaner thats not fancy and will get the job done. You don’t need a commercial vacuum at this time because your watching your investment money and a two motor upright vacuum cleaner with all the bells and whistles is just overkill. If you’re unsure of what to buy don’t be afraid to ask. Most cleaning supplies companies and janitorial distributors are more than willing to steer you in the right direction and it’s alright to let them know you’re on a tight budget.

Once you’ve got your cleaning supplies and you’ve set up a schedule with your clients it’s time to go to work. With your first cleaning account you’ll want to do an extra good job. Word can spread fast if you do a good job and more accounts could come your way quickly. The same goes for if you do a bad job, word can spread quickly and you could be out of business before you know it. Be honest and always keep good communication channels open between you and your client. When it’s time to bill your client don’t get fancy, a bill written out on paper is as good as one that has been professionally typed. If you do a great job cleaning your work will speak for itself and who knows you might be able to even quit your day job and work half as much while being your own boss.

If youre like me and have been scouring the internet for a sure fire way of making some extra income from your content rich website then you have no doubt come across and have probably joined the Google Adsense program and placed Google ads on your website, and have also had the frustration of not getting enough visitors to your site and again have been scouring the internet for information on combining Google Adsense and Google Adwords to get targeted visitors to your site.

You no doubt like me have come across the so called Get Rich Quick With Google Adsense e-books, which offer a sure fire system to use the Google Adwords feature to unlock those Google Adsense riches on your website and have probably handed over the $30 to $60 to find out the secret system. Well this article has been written to expose the myths behind these so called systems and to warn people that the results will be very disappointing.

Google Adsense Fact

The major problem with these systems is they try to blind you with a massive list of high paying keywords which Google Adword bidders supposedly pay for certain keywords and your focus is to try and concentrate your efforts on including these keywords on your website page, so the Google Adsense can put these high paying Google ads on your site, therefore increase your click through payments.

Fact is Google ads rarely payout over $2 per click for Google Adsense, I have run sites myself with the supposed top keyword “yahoo domains and the most I earned was about 50 cents per click which seems to be the Google Adsense average.

All this high paying keyword information is not going to make the so called $50 per click that some of these e-books claim, the best paying keyword out there at the moment is to do with asbestos cancer and this will only give you between $3 and $5 per click and is such a niche keyword, that not everyone is interested in reading about the subject or going to click on the Google ads on your website.

Google Adwords Fact

The Google Adwords part of the systems require you to find a high paying niche keyword, get over 200 related keywords list, create a one page website with a single article leeched from one of the free article sites surrounded by three Google ad blocks, then effectively write a Google ad with the chosen keywords as the title (via a special Google tag) and set a campaign budget of $10 a day with a maximum of 7 cents per click bid.

Fact is setting a bid of 7 cents per click will place your ad that low on the search engine that you will only get a small amount of page impressions therefore decreasing the chance of anyone clicking on your Google ad and registering a possible visitor, plus most keywords will not successfully activate Google Ads at such a low bid price.

Conclusion

Though these e-books seem to offer a system, I would have to say it is not an air-tight sure fire way of making a decent income from Google Adsense, there are just too many flaws which cannot be explained away.

My advice would be to stick to building your webpage content daily with no more than two or three Google Ads on each page, in 12 months all the search engines will have no doubt crawled and indexed your web pages hopefully bringing in a steady stream of targeted visitors who will hopefully click your Google Ads and make you a small fortune. How Alan’s Website Could Easily Make More Money

My Australian friend, Alan, recently got in touch for advice on how to make more money from his recently set up website. Alan is into natural health treatments, so his simplehealthmaintenance.com website is one that offers natural solutions to health problems.

Alan asked for my advice as to how to monetize this new site, knowing that I have had success with Google Adsense.

First off, Alan needs to consider whether sales are his primary objective. If so, the addition of Adsense to the site, whilst bringing in extra income, might reduce potential sales.

Adding Adsense to his site would be a quick & easy way to make money. I suggested a horizontal Adsense link, just below the main navigation bar which runs across his index or home page. This would look natural and looks like part of the website navigation.

Also, the addition of a Google skyscraper unit on the right of his page would add value to the site, and also increase his income, but without detracting from his primary objective of sales.

Now, Alan is an expert on health, but not so good at search engine optimization. His heading for the page of Simple health treatments by non-invasive electronic acupuncture may explain what the page is about, but it isn’t going to get him hordes of traffic from the search engines – no-one is looking for either simple health treatments or non-invasive electronic acupuncture! Zoom along to Overture and check out their keyword selector tool in the resource centre if you want to see just what it is that people are searching for.

I suggested to Alan that he look at which words which people were searching for. Although he is happy to buy traffic for the site, using the pay per click engines (e.g. Adwords & Overture). This makes it easy to get a top search engine ranking for particular words or phrases (known as keywords) but can prove an expensive way of getting traffic.

Improving his natural search engine rankings, so that people found his site when typing in the keywords, would reduce Alan’s costs and increase his profit margins considerably.

This is relatively easy to do, and in fact I ran this for Alan myself using Wordtracker. This is a handy piece of software which allows you to look at the supply and demand of particular keywords and spot gaps in the market, also known as niches.

In this case, just one of the keywords which came up as in high demand but low supply was pain management with acupuncture. Alan would do well to either use these keywords as part of his homepage or to create a new page with this title and heading, together with suitable webcopy.

By putting these keywords at the beginning and end of a new page of copy, very soon this will start to get ranked well by the search engines and receive visitors who arrive for free!

One other easy suggestion for Alan to implement, since he is also a writer, is to write a couple of articles on the subject of natural healing and acupuncture and to submit them to a few of the Article Directories, such as Ezine Articles and iSnare. This is a effective and natural way to get traffic to your site with minimum effort.

Watch out for your profit margins Alan – they’ll be going way up – just as you implement these few simple changes!
