The Real Value of Online Marketing Tools & Those Freebies

The other day I happened upon a site where I was invited to subscribe to the webmaster’s ezine. All good and well and of course good marketing to have a subscribe page and way of capturing visitors emails on your site. But the webmaster purported to say that the newsletter had a value of $399 but I would be one of the lucky ones and get it for free.

Well I produce a newsletter and I think it is fairly good quality so what value would I put on that…certainly not $399, and I would have no idea what to value it at, after all only the subscriber can properly put a perceived value on the ezine they receive. So how can this other ezine have a value of $399?

And what about all these ebooks which apparently have a resale value of $47, or $97 or more. Who are you going to get to buy these ebooks when everywhere you look the same ebooks are being given out for free…you know the ones – ‘Million Dollar Emails’, ‘Scientific Advertising’, ‘Magic Letters’ and so on….

Many websites and sales pages will attempt to persuade you to buy their product by throwing in a large number of bonuses…..worth hundreds of dollars of course and what are they, the same old ebooks again. And while some of these ebooks are actually worth reading, they now have no real value as they are distributed for free everywhere you look.

If you want to get someone to signup for your newsletter or buy your product or service you need to offer something of real value…something they cannot get hold of anywhere else, or certainly not for the price you are offering it at.

If you produce a newsletter or report, don’t place a fictious value on it that cannot be backed up. We are so used to having freebies, bonuses, extras etc pushed in our faces that they no longer really work and to stand out from the crowd, you need to be different. Stick to real quality, proper value and you will get subscribers, sales and signups.

Ok, so you haven’t made a dime in Real Estate yet right? You want to be a Real Estate Investing Millionaire, but for some reason you can’t seem to find good deals on houses. Well, I can tell you what your problem is.

You are doing all of the things that don’t make you money in real estate! Going around with a Realtor, looking on the web, driving around nice neighborhoods looking for For Sale signs, telling a few people that you Buy Houses….it’s a major waste of time.

What you’re doing is looking for deals on houses & not looking for people that need their problems solved. No one sells their house at a serious discount unless they HAVE TO! Would you sell your house to me for 50 cents on the dollar because I’m a nice guy? Of course not, you worked hard for your home and you don’t HAVE TO. But if you had lost your job, were 30 days from losing your home, and I showed you how I could put immediate cash in your pocket, wouldn’t you consider it?

As investors we buy houses from people that NEED TO SELL, NOT PEOPLE THAT WANT TO SELL. When you’re dealing with a Realtor, 9 times out of 10 they’re going to show you nice houses, owned by people that are in no urgent rush to sell. I hardly ever deal with Realtors. I’m not saying to completely alienate yourself from them. That would be foolish. Simply network with them, and let them know that if a killer deal comes along, you can close with cash quickly. Explain what you’re looking for and that’s when they will call you. I wouldn’t go around looking at houses with them. Most Realtors are not trained to look for the types of deals that we’re looking for. Actually, they’ll probably tell you that it’s NOT POSSIBLE to find the kinds of deals that we do.

There’s a few things that you need to be looking for..THESE are the things that will lead you to the good deals that you’re looking for:
1. Divorce
2. Imprisonment or Court Costs
3. Loss of Job – Foreclosures
4. Bankruptcy
5. Death
6. Job Transfer
7. Bad Tenants – Contact Landlords who have filed evictions

Most of these types of people can be searched by looking through the public information on your local courthouse records. Depending on your location, most of the time these are available online. Situations like Loss Of Job would be discovered by looking through the foreclosures and knocking on their door. You need to focus your attention on people with these types of situations.

These people usually have serious issues that need to be solved. They at one time had the cash to pay for their mortgage and the expenses associated with it. Now due to circumstances beyond their control, things have been thrown out of whack and they need someone to get everything reorganized for them. What Is Bum Marketing: How To Make Money With A $5 Budget

Bum marketing is so called because even a bum can make money using this method. You need no outlay and can start with nothing. Absolutely zilch!

I had absolutely zilch because I had maxed out 7 credit cards. I used to laugh when I read about others doing that with just two, but I did it myself in spades! My only word to you would be very careful how you use PPC programs like Adwords because I wasnt. But thats another story.

I discovered bum marketing because if there is one thing I am good at, it is writing. Bum marketing involves finding a profitable niche, or one that could be profitable. It has to be something with a reasonable large following, and a reasonable number of topics attached to it. Like fly fishing or quilting, or something similar. Something that is followed by people you would expect to have money. You dont want people flinching at paying $97 for a product related to their hobby or interest.

You then have to find some decent keywords. For bum marketing it doesnt matter too much if there is competition for them, but not too general. Not quilting but perhaps hand quilting machines or deep throat quilters. Then get a website set up. You can get a cheap functional site for under $5 a month and then set up a website. A sales page for a product and a few pages with some content. If you can get it, register a domain name that is the same as, or relates to, one of the keywords you have chosen.

Write a few articles on the topic of your website, and use one for each of the web pages. Bum marketing is all about article writing. You should have one web page for each keyword you are using relating to your website. Find a few products to sell. If you have your own then great, but if not sell affiliate products.

Then write a few more articles and submit them to article directories. Each directory will allow you what is known as an Authors Resource Box in which you can say a little about yourself and provide a URL for people to click on for more information. The URL should lead to a page that relates to the topic of the article, and should ideally be a text link with the keyword or phrase that is the title of your web page. The text link should be hyperlinked to the page; what is termed an active link.

If the directory does not specifically provide a Resource Box, you can add that information after your article. It has to be included and will go with your article whenever it is copied and used. The article will not only bring you traffic, but also valuable links back to your web pages.

It is important that you continue to write and keep pumping out new articles. I like to write two every week and send them off to the top 25 directories. Thats all I have to do because most of the top 25 provide material to other directories, and before you know it your articles are all over the internet. Thats bum marketing.

As I said, even a bum with no money can do it. I know, because I was that bum at one time. I am no longer!
